Collabs, Partners, Alliances, and Advice

Shively Acoustics International (SAI) is running at full capacity as the year starts to run out. Webinars (of course!), a new collaboration, announcements from partner Silentium, and what to expect at CES – the SAI Blog is here again for a couple of company updates and sneak peeks of things to come.

The next webinar from the Audio Product Development Alliance (APDA) is just around the corner. Subscribers to the APDA Webinar series will have noticed the absence of an episode this month, but fear not! The series returns this coming Tuesday, December 2, for its thirteenth outing – join us live at 12:00 pm EST for “Real-Time, In-Car Multi-Zone Processing Powered by GPU Audio” with Alexander “Sasha” Talashov and Sergey Korobov of GPU Audio. In their talk, Talashov and Korobov will dive into what they call “the world’s first multi-zone in-car audio system with active zone compression”, technology that allows the front and rear occupants of a vehicle to experience different audio streams at the same time with minimal interference. To learn more and listen to a live demo of the groundbreaking tech, join the livestream on December 2!

SAI’s cooperation with GPU Audio extends beyond the webinar: this month, our president Roger Shively was added to the company’s advisory board and will be given the title Chief Automotive Audio Engineer in this role. Readers of the blog will also remember Roger’s board appointment at MeierWerks earlier this year. Among other things, in this role Roger will be providing GPU Audio support at CES 2026 coming up at the start of next year. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, taking place from January 6-9, GPU Audio will set up base in Hall G, Booth 60846 at the Venetian Expo.

CES is always one of the busiest industry events for Shively Acoustics. Roger will of course be covering the trade show for our media partner audioXpress, just as he did this past January, again with a focus on Automotive. The SAI chief also has a full schedule of meetings, with plans to connect with Ford, Lucid Motors, Stellantis, Tesla, Dolby, DSP Concepts, Qualcomm, Pioneer, Panasonic, QNX, Rivian, Treves, Visteon, and Harman – busy indeed! Meanwhile, the APDA is making its return to the trade show, once again sharing a Venetian Towers suite with alliance co-founder Dave Lindberg and his company dB Enterprises.

Silentium News

There’s also cause for celebration on the Silentium front. The ANC-software supplier to the automotive industry is one of our closest partners, with Roger serving as head of its North American subsidiary Silentium USA. At the end of October, Silentium announced a partnership with US technology and software company Cadence Design Systems for the use of Silentium’s Quiet Bubble™ software on Cadence’s Tensilica HiFi DSPs for audio, voice, speech, and AI applications. The aim of the collaboration is to support OEMs in the automotive sector with a low-cost solution for delivering high-quality in-car active noise cancellation in software-defined vehicles (SDVs), which have come to define the current era of Automotive. To enhance the comfort and acoustics of the driving experience, Quiet Bubble “creates personalized zones of quiet around each occupant by neutralizing unwanted noise up to 1 kHz in real time”, according to Silentium. The two companies will also bring their new partnership to CES in January, where they will promote Quiet Bubble. Silentium will join Cadence on Level 3 of the Venetian Expo in Lido 3001A.

Safe to say, a lot is in store for Shively Acoustics International at CES 2026. Will we see you there? ■
